Services, engineering capabilities & legacy systems

Innowise provides software engineering and IT consulting for both new products and existing systems. Depending on the project, we can cover:

The full service portfolio is available on Innowise services page.

Our engineering teams work across the major web, mobile, cloud, and enterprise technology stacks. Our core engineering stack includes:

You can find the complete technology stack on our technologies page.

Both. We can take responsibility for the whole project or come in for one specific part of it, like UX/UI, QA, DevOps, architecture, integration, or development. If your internal team is already running the project, our experts can cover the skills or capacity you’re missing.

Absolutely. Our team provides legacy software modernization services for highly customized enterprise systems, including SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and other business platforms. Depending on your current configuration, we can refactor custom code, migrate data or workloads, move parts of the system to another platform, or connect legacy components to newer applications via APIs. For larger migrations, we also run both the old and new environments in parallel before switching between them to reduce the risk of business disruption.

Sure, we can start with a discovery phase before full-scale development. At this stage, we clarify business goals, user needs, requirements, scope, technical constraints, and priorities for the first release. From there, we can define the architecture, roadmap, team setup, and a more grounded project estimate.

If the project involves technical uncertainty, our team addresses it through targeted PoCs or feasibility assessments. For example, we validate whether specific architectures, APIs, data pipelines, or AI components perform as expected before committing them to the core build.

At Innowise, we make sure compliance is part of our software from the very beginning. We turn regulatory guidelines into clear requirements for development, security, and testing. Depending on your project, our security measures can include multi-factor access management, data encryption, ongoing threat modeling, secure code audits, and complete regulatory logging.

Our teams are experienced with requirements like HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, PSD2, SOC 2, FDA/MDR, and DORA. Innowise also holds ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 13485, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018 certifications.

Yes. After launch, we can continue with software maintenance and support or help your team take over. Our post-launch support includes bug fixes, monitoring, security updates, performance improvements, new features, and upgrades as the product changes.

For systems that need continuous coverage, Innowise offers L2/L3 support and 24/7 technical support for urgent issues. If your team will manage the product, we provide the documentation and training they need.

Artificial intelligence & advanced engineering

Yes. Innowise has delivered 40+ AI projects involving RAG, agentic AI, computer vision, and machine learning. Recent examples include Vidda, a regulatory compliance platform; Haia, an agentic financial assistant with human-in-the-loop transaction controls; a secure enterprise analytics chatbot for internal data; and an AI skin scanner built with DINOv2 and CNN models. You can find more examples on our AI case studies page.

Yes. Our team builds RAG agents that work with internal company data, as well as AI agents that use APIs and interact with systems such as CRM or ERP. For more complex workflows, we can assign different tasks to separate agents and control what each one is allowed to do through permissions and approval steps.

For example, we built Haia, an agentic finance platform, and a RAG-based analytics chatbot for working with internal company data.

We check AI outputs by comparing them to the task and the source data they are supposed to use. For RAG systems, we review both the retrieval step and the final answer to identify where mistakes occur. For tasks with fixed answers, we use set checks, while open-ended answers might need another LLM review. To prevent hallucinations, we make sure responses are based on source material and have a human review them when the risk is higher.

After release, we put the processes in place to keep AI applications stable and measurable in production. Depending on the system, that may include:

  • Version control for models and training data
  • Automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Model deployment and environment management
  • Performance monitoring and drift detection
  • Logging and alerts, with retraining when model performance drops

For Generative AI applications, we also set up tracing, token and cost tracking, evaluation workflows, prompt management, and user feedback collection. We monitor output quality in production to see whether an issue comes from retrieval, prompts, or the model itself, and identify what needs to change.

We design AI data access around what the model needs and how sensitive the data is. Depending on the project, controls may include role-based access, encryption, audit logs, model monitoring, and human approval for high-risk actions. For sensitive workloads, models can also run in a private cloud or on-premises environment to keep data within the required infrastructure.

Innowise holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018 certifications for information security and cloud data protection. Our AI teams also work with GDPR and other regulatory requirements.

Engagement models, onboarding & team scaling

We offer four engagement models, depending on what kind of support you need:

  • IT staff augmentation/team extension. You add individual specialists to your existing team and manage their day-to-day work.
  • Engagerat team. We put together a team for your project. You can manage it yourself or have an Innowise PM or Scrum Master lead delivery.
  • Full-cycle outsourcing. You hand over the agreed project scope, and Innowise manages the delivery.
  • Offshore development center (ODC). Innowise sets up a separate offshore team for long-term development work that needs dedicated capacity.

We typically share relevant CVs within 1–2 days. Once you choose a specialist, they can often join the project within 3–5 business days. For a larger team, the timeline is agreed individually and may take 1–2 weeks, depending on the roles and expertise required.

Yes. Innowise can join a project already in development or take over an unfinished or stalled product from another team. We start by reviewing the codebase and architecture, then check the backlog and development setup to see what needs attention before our engineers step in.

No, we do not work on-site, but we can arrange in-person meetings when needed. It is discussed individually, based on project location and engagement terms.

Usually, Innowise can add or roll off developers within a week, so you can adjust capacity without starting another hiring cycle. Larger ramp-ups may take longer depending on the roles and skills required.

If an engineer isn’t the right fit, Innowise provides a replacement. Before the switch, we document current work and, where useful, overlap the two engineers so the replacement can pick up the project without losing context. See how we hire developers.

Yes. You can definitely start with a PoC or MVP to validate your product before a long-term engineering commitment. Also, we can arrange short developer trial periods under specific engagement terms to make sure our experts are the right fit for your internal team.

Pricing, cost estimation & budget control

Innowise offers several pricing models, including Time & Material, Fixed Price, and monthly pricing for dedicated teams. We can also combine models when a project requires more flexibility.

We choose the estimation method based on how clearly the project is defined. Early on, the goal is to set a realistic budget and timeline. Once the scope is clearer, we can estimate the work in more detail.

  • Top-down estimation. We estimate the project as a whole using expert judgment and data from similar work. It works well when you need an early budget and timeline before every requirement is defined.
  • Bottom-up estimation. Our specialists estimate individual features or tasks, then combine them into the total effort. We use it once the scope and work breakdown are detailed enough.
  • PERT (program evaluation and review technique). We compare optimistic, most likely, and pessimistic estimates when the project still has significant uncertainty or technical risk.
  • T-shirt sizing. Agile teams group features by relative effort, usually as S, M, or L. It helps compare complexity before proceeding with detailed estimates.

You can get a free, no-obligation estimate by scheduling a call or sending us your initial requirements through the contact form. Once we review the scope, we prepare a proposal with the recommended team setup, estimated effort by role, delivery timeline, and key project risks.

Our minimum project size is typically $10,000+, although the exact starting budget depends on the scope and type of engagement.

We agree on the budget and billing model before work starts, then track spend against that baseline throughout the project. If something could push the cost up, you see it before the extra work begins.

  • Budget baseline. The proposal clearly states what the estimate includes and how billing works, so the project has a clear reference point.
  • Budget tracking. The project manager regularly checks actual effort and spend against the plan and keeps you updated on where the budget stands.
  • Risk management. If our team identifies work that could increase costs, we communicate this early and discuss options with you first.
  • Change control. Every change request gets an estimate before it enters the scope, including its impact on cost and timing.
  • Priority review. If new work arises, we can jointly reprioritize and defer less urgent tasks to a later stage.

When the scope changes, we first assess the extra work and its impact on the timeline and budget. Our team agrees on any changes with the client before adding that work to the project. With T&M, we add new tasks to the backlog and bill for the actual time spent. With a fixed price, we re-estimate anything outside the original scope and adjust the timeline accordingly.

Project management, communication & delivery

Depending on the project, we use Agile approaches such as Scrum and Kanban, as well as Waterfall. If one methodology doesn't fit, we combine practices from different approaches.

  • Scrum. The team works in short sprints and reviews progress with stakeholders at the end of each cycle. We usually choose Scrum when requirements may change, and the client wants regular feedback during development.
  • Kanban. Tasks move through a continuous workflow, with limits on work in progress. Our teams use Kanban for support, maintenance, or projects with a regular flow of incoming requests.
  • Waterfall. The project follows a defined sequence of stages based on the agreed scope and schedule. Our specialists use it when requirements are stable, or the work involves formal approvals.
  • Hybrid approach. Some projects need elements of more than one methodology. For example, a project follows fixed milestones, while the development team works in Agile iterations within each stage.

For full-cycle projects, your main point of contact is typically a project manager or delivery manager who coordinates the team, tracks progress, and handles communication. With staff augmentation, our specialists join your existing team and usually work under your project manager or team lead. If the project needs extra coordination on our side, Innowise can also bring in a PM or Scrum Master. An account manager is automatically assigned to each Innowise client with a main goal to ensure that each client is satisfied with our services. An account manager also serves as a primary escalation point.

Before the project starts, we work with you to set a schedule and communication plan that fits both teams’ locations and the amount of live overlap needed.

For nearshore projects, we can assign specialists whose schedules closely match yours. With offshore teams, we set a daily overlap window for meetings and urgent discussions. Outside that window, the team keeps work coordinated through Jira, Confluence, Slack, or Teams, shared Git repositories, or whatever tools your team already uses.

Our specialists can also join your regular stand-ups and planning sessions, so communication fits right in with your team’s usual routines.

We can work in your existing project environment or use tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. Project managers also use status reports, sprint reviews, and demos to keep stakeholders up to date on progress.

Innowise manages delivery risks throughout the project and prepares for issues that could affect the schedule or release plan.

  • Risk identification and prioritization. The project manager and technical leads review dependencies, technical constraints, workload, and scope changes as the project moves forward. Risks with the greatest impact on upcoming milestones get attention first.
  • Mitigation planning. For material risks, our team looks for ways to reduce the chance of a delay before it reaches the delivery schedule. Depending on the situation, the response may involve testing a risky area on a smaller scope, changing the order of work, adding extra checks, or redistributing workload.
  • Progress and variance checks. The project manager compares progress with the release plan and follows blockers closely. If work starts slipping, the team identifies the cause and adjusts the plan before the delay grows.
  • Technical contingency measures. Higher-risk technical work may require pilot runs, unit and integration tests, code reviews, real-time alerts, retry logic, rollback procedures, backups, or post-deployment validation. The safeguards depend on the system and the failure scenarios involved.
  • Recovery planning. When a delay becomes likely, we review the options with you. The team may reassign resources or move lower-priority work to a later release to keep the main milestone on track.
  • Escalation and replanning. Before the schedule changes, we explain the blocker and its impact on delivery. Once we agree on the next step, our project manager updates the plan, and the team works against the revised timeline.

Quality assurance, code standards & DevOps

Our developers follow project-specific coding standards and use peer reviews, static analysis, and unit testing throughout development. Senior engineers and architects review key design decisions with scalability and future changes in mind. We track test coverage and, where the stack supports it, metrics such as Maintainability Index or cyclomatic complexity.

Before release, our QA engineers test the product against the risks that matter for that release. We run manual functional and regression tests and automated checks in CI/CD. When the project has specific performance requirements or expected load, we also run load and performance tests. Depending on the project scope, the team may also run security, acceptance, or release testing.

Our DevOps engineers set up CI/CD pipelines that fit your release process, connecting tests and security checks right to deployment. They manage cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. We also set up monitoring and rollback steps for your production environment.

Innowise typically targets around 99% service availability, with the exact SLA set according to your infrastructure and support scope. We also define performance thresholds and response times by incident severity, so you know what level of service to expect before go-live.

Security, IP rights & legal compliance

Sure. We can sign an NDA before you share sensitive project details or give us access to your systems and data. Our employees and contractors also sign confidentiality agreements before joining a project. If you prefer to use your own NDA, our legal team can review the template before signing.

Innowise holds several ISO certifications focused specifically on information and cloud security:

  • ISO 27001:2022 for information security management
  • ISO 27017:2015 for information security controls in cloud services
  • ISO 27018:2019 for protecting personally identifiable information in public cloud environments

Our specialists work on company-managed devices protected with disk encryption and endpoint security tools such as EDR. Access to corporate and project systems runs through encrypted VPNs, while MFA and role-based permissions restrict each specialist to the systems they need. For high-security projects, we can also use isolated environments, dedicated networks, or hardened jump hosts.

For critical workloads, we agree on RPO and RTO targets first, then build backup and recovery procedures around them. We document recovery steps, test restores or failover, and run DR exercises regularly to check that the recovery process works as planned.

Innowise uses properly licensed software in our work and follows the terms of any third-party or open-source components included in a client project. If the solution depends on commercial software, we account for license costs when choosing the technology and estimating the project budget.

When a security incident occurs, our response team first assesses the impact and works to contain it. We follow the escalation process and keep the client informed through the agreed channels. After recovery, we investigate the root cause and update any controls or procedures that need to change.

Post-launch support, maintenance & knowledge transfer

Sure. We agree the warranty terms before release and include the warranty period in the project estimate. During that time, our team fixes critical and high-severity defects within the approved technical specification and acceptance criteria.

For work outside the warranty scope, we confirm the cost and delivery time before starting. After the warranty ends, our L2 and L3 teams can continue supporting the product, handling incidents and complex technical issues as well as minor improvements and stability work.

Yes. We provide 24/7 support for business-critical applications and infrastructure. The SLA sets response times and escalation rules based on incident severity and your operational requirements.

Critical incidents get the highest priority, with the team following the agreed escalation path to restore service and reduce downtime. Issues that require deeper technical investigation can move to L2 or L3 specialists who work with application behavior, code, architecture, integrations, or infrastructure.

You can find more details on our software maintenance and support services page.

Innowise starts knowledge transfer before handover, so your team has time to learn the system while our engineers are still involved. We prepare technical documentation, walk your specialists through the setup, and let them shadow the team before taking over work. Our experts also train administrators or end users on the parts of the system they will work with directly.

Initial consultation & next steps

You can book a call on the Innowise website, send your request through the kontaktformulär, or email us at contact@innowise.com. We’ll get back to you to discuss your project and can sign an NDA before you share sensitive details. After the initial discussion, our team prepares a proposal based on your requirements.

You don’t need a complete specification to request an estimate. A short description of the product or problem is enough for the first conversation, along with any materials you already have, such as requirements, a backlog, a prototype, or an existing codebase. The more we know about the planned scope and technical constraints, the more accurate the initial estimate will be.
