Our customer, CoreLedger AG, is an IT company developing high-quality tailor-made software based on blockchain technology. CoreLedger headquarters in Liechtenstein and has a development office in Zug, Switzerland. Since 2017, the company has been creating unique solutions leveraging the power and potential of blockchain.

Challenge

Based on market analysis, our client decided to create a convenient mobile application that would be used by individuals and businesses to store, sign, download, and share documents within the blockchain system. The main goal of the project was to build a reliable tool for secure storage and confirmation of documents through a digital signature, with the data being stored on the blockchain ensuring high reliability and accuracy.CoreLedger took over the back-end development part of the project and delegated front-end development to Innowise thanks to comprehensive technological expertise, individual approach, and experience of working with blockchain technology.

Solution

Innowise has cooperated with CoreLedger to create a mobile application (both iOS and Android versions) for document management on the base of blockchain. Our professionals were engaged in front-end development activities.

FUNCTIONALITY

The solution is a mobile application, with the main purpose of providing users with a reliable tool for secure and fast document management. Within the app, all users can perform the following activities:

Attach digital content (pdf, images, audio)
Create unique digital signatures
Confirm the authenticity of a document with a digital signature

USAGE AND BENEFITS

Users can leverage the app’s feature set to quickly create documents, confirm them with a digital signature and share with relevant recipients. Using blockchain technology, the solution helps to legally confirm the ownership of information and data, the right to own textual and digital information at a certain point in time. The application uses a cryptographically secure way to verify the authenticity and origin of the data. The app also allows users to take pictures or upload files and verify them on the blockchain.Users can download the doc management application on Google Play and App Store. To access all the features of the application, users can pay in cryptocurrency.

Process

We selected Scrum as a software development methodology, as it ideally fit the specifics of the project. Also, we decided to communicate via Microsoft Teams during the solution development and support. Azure DevOps was used for task management.
As our company was involved in the front-end development, the biggest challenge was the dependence on the team that develops the back-end part of the application. Our deadlines and releases were directly reliant on them. In addition, the same services on the back-end part were used simultaneously by several applications. Each of them had their own release dates and slightly different functionality, which made it difficult to plan and synchronize releases. Despite the challenges described above, we established excellent communication with the client’s team and achieved a high level of synchronization, thus meeting the deadlines and completing project tasks in excellent quality.

Our customer was fully satisfied with Innowise team performance. We have developed the client side of the application, which has received rave reviews from both the end users of the application and the client. We continue to work closely with CoreLedger on other projects while planning to expand the functionality of the mobile application and working on updating the solution architecture.
