On-premise data infrastructure is hard to access remotely and is hard to scale

The firm faced several challenges with their existing data management infrastructure. They needed to facilitate access to internal files and achieve system scalability while maintaining robust security. Additionally, the necessity for remote access had become critical, requiring employees to log into the internal system and utilize work-related applications from any device.

Solution

Azure-based database linked with on-premise digital infrastructure

To overhaul the client’s data infrastructure, Innowise deployed a cloud-based information management system on Microsoft Azure, complemented by virtual desktops for remote access. The tech experts designed the entire system to ensure secure and efficient data handling and accessibility.

Azure-based infrastructure

The team used Azure File Storage and Azure File Sync to set up the cloud storage infrastructure. They also set up a secure VPN connection to link the cloud storage with the on-premise data storage. This way the data remains consistent across platforms since any changes made in the cloud were immediately synchronized with the local storage system.

Virtual desktops

To facilitate remote work, our engineers deployed multiple virtual desktops that allowed employees to access files and applications from any location. The desktops were configured using Microsoft Intune, which automated the installation and setup of necessary applications. These virtual desktops were also integrated with both cloud and local storage solutions, providing a cohesive and secure environment for remote access.
