Challenge

Our client often struggles to onboard new hires quickly due to the rapid hiring process. To solve this, the client turned to Innowise to reimagine onboarding as an interactive, engaging experience — something that felt like walking into a modern office. This approach would allow not only new employees but also potential candidates to gain a clear understanding of the company’s structure, culture, and processes.

Solution

We developed a browser-based 3D office where new hires could interact, learn, and connect — just like in a real workplace. The space supports multiplayer access and real-time voice communication, and meanwhile helps newcome employees feel part of the team from day one.

To bring this experience to life, we focused on a few key features:

Multiplayer environment

Up to 12 participants can join a virtual room simultaneously, creating a shared sense of presence. Whether it’s a group of new hires or a mentor-led walkthrough, the environment scales to different onboarding formats.

Voice chat

We integrated built-in spatial voice chat to support natural, real-time conversation — no plugins or separate apps required. As team members move around the virtual space, they can talk to whoever’s nearby, just like in a physical office. This setup makes onboarding feel more human and helps reduce the disconnect.

Interactive dialog boxes & smart checkpoints

To guide new hires through the environment, we embedded interactive elements like pop-up dialog boxes, smart checkpoints, and context-aware hints. These features provide timely prompts and helpful information — like where to go next, what task to complete and how to navigate important topics such as office hours, holiday schedules, available bonuses, and IT support contacts. Instead of dumping everything into a single document, we broke down the information and placed it exactly where users need it.

Embedded multimedia content

New employees watch welcome videos, explore the company’s mission and values, and review first-week guides — all within the virtual space. They click on screens or interactive objects to launch videos or open documents. No context-switching. No scattered links.
