The client was seeking a way of establishing a partnership with a car dealership and providing customers with exclusive offers using software tools.
The client and their partner came up with the idea of enhancing their banking app by incorporating an augmented reality (AR) feature. This AR activity would provide customers with access to exclusive leasing offers at the partner’s facilities while also engaging them in immersive and enjoyable experiences that would encourage them to seize the opportunities presented to them.
Innowise has developed a brand new AR module and integrated it into the client’s banking application. The module shows up as a separate tab on the application home screen. Once users open it and grant permission to access their geolocation and camera, they can reveal a special offer crafted jointly by the bank and the car dealer.
The experience itself is an AR module with hide-and-seek mechanics. When entering certain car dealership facilities, users can launch the experience and seek a box containing a unique car leasing offer that can be applied immediately.
The search process is performed with the help of the customer’s smartphone camera. When the camera captures a designated marker, the module generates a box that can be activated by tapping it as the user approaches the marker.
Our development team has integrated the new module into the application’s core to ensure the seamless functioning of the offer. When a user activates the box, they are redirected to the leasing application form page, where they can review the terms and conditions of the offer and sign the application with the representative provided by the car dealing company.
The module our team has developed uses geolocation to notify users about the availability of AR activities.
For instance, when a user walks inside the partner’s establishment and they are eligible to receive the offer, they receive a push notification from the banking application informing them of the availability of an AR experience containing it.
If a user attempts to launch the AR module from a location far from the facility, they are notified that the experience can be launched only in certain locations and are provided with the list of those locations.
The client had a distinct product vision, and it was our responsibility to execute clear and seamless development and implementation while providing support post-launch.
Our team adopted the Agile methodology with bi-weekly sprints to ensure a transparent and efficient development process. Following each sprint, we conducted sprint reviews to showcase progress and gather feedback from the client.
Our team utilized Google Meet for calls and Slack for chats. Confluence was employed to store project documentation, while Jira was selected as the tool for progress tracking.
